With the ongoing slew of "alien disclosure" coming from our intelligence agencies, I believe it's high time there was a counter narrative that correctly frames the nature of this phenomenon. Now before anyone assumes anything and stops reading, let me clarify, I do not necessarily agree with the notion that all aliens are demons (or the more naive assumption that they're all benign angelic beings). The truth is, as we often will find, something much more nuanced and mystical than the mainstream narrative. Most of this deception can actually be traced back, and is intrinsically tied to, the nature of who, and what, we are. For we are not just a mistake in the universe, a random mutation, or a side effect of the material realm; we are in fact spiritual beings that have incarnated into physical bodies. This physical reality is not our base, and neither is it that of the entities we call "aliens". In fact, when looking at ancient stories of Angels and Demons, The Fae, or the Hindu notion of Devas and Asuras, they are rarely described as solely physical beings from another planet. The idea that is often conveyed is that of spiritual beings that exist in a sphere or realm that is parallel but separate from ours. Unlike us who are still in this Earthly cycle, these beings are able to materialize in this realm and pop back to where they came from with ease. Due to this lack of permanent physicality, I think the best and most descriptive term for all of them would just be entities. Because while they aren't all just nonmaterial beings, limiting them to simply biological creatures and their craft to nuts-and-bolt machines truly shrinks not just the scope of reality but also limits what we believe we are and what we can accomplish.
Going back and looking at the way these entities are talked about by our ancients and synthesizing that with our current conceptions may help us get a more complete picture of what’s going on. For example, let’s look at some of the ways that the ancient Celts talked about the Fae. These entities are often associated with strange lights and orbs that dance around our realm, the sound of ringing bells before an interaction, they frequently kidnap humans as pranks or in vengeance, or help assist a human in need. One common theme surrounding forest fairies and their interactions with humans is their temperamental nature. When travelers would get lost in the woods on a dark night, they would sometimes find themselves confronted by strange lights in the woods. These were known as fairy lights, or Will-o’-the-Wisp, and depending on how you treated them, they would either lead you home or confuse and make you more lost. This mischievous and wishy-washy attitude is a common theme that follows these entities throughout all cultures. They also were known to throw rocks at people sitting around a campfire at night, which sounds strangely similar to another entity that we in America know quite well (hint hint they have large feet). Similar to the modern Greys, they would also kidnap a person and whisk them away to a highly advanced underground city, usually crystalline in nature. When here, humans would be used for breeding purposes, to simply be shown the wonderful futuristic city, or to be put to work in some way. Again, this all sounds very reminiscent of the modern UFO phenomenon where people are taken away to alien ships or underground bases where they are used as breeding stock or to be warned of some disaster.
The thing that the modern UFO myth misses out on, but the ancient myths always stress, is that these occurrences can happen in both the waking and sleeping consciousness. People would not just encounter these entities while walking out in the woods at night, they also would encounter them in their bed while sleeping and in their dreams. This differentiation did not matter to the ancients, they didn’t care if you went to the fairy realm in waking hours or in your dream, you still went there and encountered them. Unlike modern scientists and most UFOlogists, our ancestors had the understanding that what happens to our dream-selves has just as much value as what happens to us in a waking state. Whatever these beings are, they have the ability to not just affect us on the material realm. In the current age, when someone has any sort of encounter, why is it that one of the first dismissive things said to that person is, “Oh you probably were just dreaming, it wasn't real”. Why is it that we diminish the importance of our dreams? In the past, pharaohs, priests, people of all social status would take very seriously the implications of what occurred in their dreams. For example, in the Bible we see many, many instances of people’s dreams being taken deathly seriously. The old Testament has numerous occasions of angels appearing to people in both waking and sleeping states, with both being taken equally as serious. Why else would King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylonn have gone to such great lengths to have his dream interpreted, specifically seeking out Daniel, as it was known that “Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds”? Or what about Ezekial and his visions of the cherub and “a wheel in the middle of a wheel”. Not to mention the multitude of visions and dreams that surround Jesus’ life and family, be it Mary’s visitation by Gabriel, Joseph’s dream of fleeing to Egypt, or Jesus’ mystical experience with Peter, James, and John on the mount.
Another aspect to this phenomena that the modern UFO myth does an abysmally poor job of describing is the nature of where these entities come from. In the modern material lens that everything is required to be looked through, there is only one answer; other physical planets. This is not just a horribly uninteresting answer, but also an inherently constricting one as it seeks to limit our scope of reality and what we are. A more complete answer, I think, can again be found in the way that our ancient ancestors viewed these visiting beings. To them, these entities did not always come from a purely physical place like ours and their realms were completely separate from ours. These places were strange, mysterious, and often did not follow the same laws that our world does. For example, we can look at the way that many shamanistic cultures held the belief in different realms that the shaman would go into and experience, communing with a multitude of entities here that would be able to give them help and guidance. These would broadly be lumped into 2 general areas of the spirit realm where the shamans would venture into, the Upperworld and the Lowerworld. The shaman would be able to communicate with celestial and more divine entities, including their Divine Creator, in the Upperworld while the Lowerworld is where they would go to interact with the deceased as well as earthly and animal spirits. This notion of our realm having counterparts that are above and below is not a belief that is isolated to the shamans. In fact, this is again a pretty universal idea that has shown itself time and time again in ancient beliefs. For a very basic and easy comparison, let's look at the Christian notions of Heaven and Hell; one is situated “above” us and is the abode of The Creator as well as his multitude of angels, while the realm that is “below” us is a place inhabited by many demons and lower entities. We can see an expanded idea of these notions in Dante’s work, The Divine Comedy.
The Hindus have a very complex system of Lokas that describe a similar idea. According to them, there are 7 higher spheres and 7 lower spheres that make up our existence, with earth inhabiting the lowest of the 7 higher spheres. The higher lokas are where the gods, devas, rishis, and other spiritually evolved entities live and exist. On our souls path through its incarnations, we should be seeking to go up through these realms, eventually reuniting with the Godhead itself. In opposition to this, the lower spheres are the places that the asuras, dwarves, the nagas (which are shapeshifting half human half serpent entities) and other lower density entities exist. Curiously, Vedic script tells us that these lower realms are in fact much more splendid and bright than their heavenly counterparts. Here, the material realm is king, and the splendor and grandeur of all that is done there is unmatched, as well as the complete debaucherous nature of what goes on, as even the first of these 7 spheres has a river of sexual energy and is populated by what are essentially described as succubi. We should remember that similarly, the ancient Celts had an understanding of entities and entire realms that were situated underground, or in a “lower” plane. It was here that they encountered magical cities of crystal, fantastical realms that boggle the mind, and saw riches beyond their wildest dreams.
We have, for our entire existence, co-existed with forces and beings that are as complex and confusing as us humans. They have gone by many names and taken on a number of different forms, but often these stay fairly consistent. We in the modern day have a group of beings called the Greys that we interact with, Aleister Crowley called it Lam, the ancient aborigines called them Wandjina, and the Hopi called them the Ant People. The specifics of these may vary from culture to culture, but the idea of big headed, big eyed, off coloured humanoids seems to keep repeating itself. Along with the idea that these entities are extremely advanced beyond our understanding and have knowledge to give. Similarly, there are countless stories of chimeric entities having communications with, and even walking among, us humans. One very common half-animal half-human hybrid that repeatedly shows up across cultures are the numerous different Dog-Human entities. The Egyptians had their god Anubis, we Americans have the Dogman, Marco Polo speaks of man-eating dog-headed men living on a pacific island, and the Greek historians Pliny and Herodotus both talk about a few different tribes of Kynokephaloi (Greek for dog-headed) living around the ancient world. They tell stories of a tribe living down near Libya, there’s a particularly interesting group of them living in the mountains of India that trade with human kings, and Jason and his Argonauts also fight a tribe of them near Serbia!
One of the oddest instances of dog-headed beings popping up is probably their appearance in Catholic iconography. Some of the earliest depictions we have of St Christopher, for example, is that of a large, dog-headed man, and while this tradition is dead in the Roman Catholic Church, many Orthodox churches still have icons that show St. Christopher as a dog-headed man. On top of this, the Irish story “The Passion of St Christopher” directly describes him as having the head of a dog. He isn’t the only saint with canine depictions, however, as Saint Mercurius is also depicted as having 2 dog-headed companions named Akhrax and Augani, which are found in Orthodox icons and churches. Whatever these chimeric beings are, there are repeated accounts of them from across the world dating back into the last ice age. There are are multiple cave paintings that depict half-animal, half-human hybrids; for example the bison-man in Gabillou, France, the lion-man from Hohlenstein-Stadel, Germany, the mushroom shaman from Algeria, and the Sorcerer from Trois Freres, France. Which, speaking of the last ice age, the mystic and clairvoyant Edgar Cayce also had a few things to say about different entities during that time. Born in 1877, Cayce was a Christian Sunday school teacher who, starting from a young age, was able to go into a trance state to communicate with his higher self and bring back cures for people’s ailments or give past-life readings. Throughout his life, he gave thousands of readings on people who had lived past lives in Atlantis, and through this Cayce has become one of the most important reservoirs of knowledge on Atlantis. According to the past-life regressions that he performed, before the final fall of Atlantis at the end of the last ice age, the Atlanteans engaged in many twisted forms of science and magick; creating and changing their own forms, creating artificial bodies to trap un-bodied souls into, and creating what Cayce called automatons.
These automatons, according to Cayce, were used by the Atlanteans as essentially a robot-servant class of beings that did all their work and labor for the Atlanteans. One could make a comparison to the convergence of AI and robotics that we see happening today (and this isn’t the only technology that Cayce described that we are “inventing” today). Other entities would use the genetic engineering capabilities of Atlantis to transform themselves into inhuman forms, often mixing other animal features with the human form creating a chimeric-hybrid of sorts. This was done for many selfish and debauched reasons, be them sexual, functional, or cosmetic. This perversion of the human form is not just unnatural, but it also is an affront to the natural evolutionary process for our souls and the vessels they inhabit and led to many issues in the Atlanteans who were changed. Another very interesting thing that Cayce says about these genetically engineered Atlanteans is that after the final sinking of Atlantis, many of these beings fled as refugees to Egypt, setting up a more solid Neo-Atlantean state. Could these be the chimeric gods of Ancient Egypt that are said to have come from the west, across the ocean, and set up the Egypt Civilization during Zep Tepi? Could these be related to the half-fish civilizing gods of the Sumerians, the Apkallu? Could they also be intrinsically tied into part of the half human cryptids that people report across the globe? I believe that a bit of the mystery around “aliens” and their UFOs can actually be explained by this Atlantis hypothesis. If there was a hyper advanced society around before the end of the last ice age, an advanced society that had access to anti-gravity flying craft, advanced crystalline technology, nuclear energy, and a slew of other tech we can scarcely imagine, why couldn’t a breakaway group of their elites have not survived? We in the modern day have an equivalent with the US government having untold amounts of underground military bases for our Continuity of Government elites to hide away in incase of an apocalyptic emergency; we saw this happen in the months following the 9/11 attacks when Rumsfeld and his cronies were shuffled into Site R to govern the US separate from congress and the president. So if Atlantis was anything like us today, why wouldn’t their elites have done something similar, and consequently, why would many of the UFOs we see today not have links or be traced back to this culture?
It is my belief that many of the UFOs that have been seen by people are in fact remnants of the Atlantean culture. The nuts-and-bolts craft that are seen flying through our skies could in fact be these entities, or descendants of them, who survived the catastrophic end of the last ice age. They may have used underground cities or bases (like the supposed one in Mt Shasta or the one the Ant People took the Hopi during the flood) or they could have used underwater ones (like the one reported by General Fravor or the Utsuro-bune incident in Japan) or they even could have taken refuge in Antarctica (like seriously, wtf is going on there). When you combine this with all the evidence people like Graham Hancock have collated surrounding the sudden emergence of civilization in the post-diluvian world and the high point it seemed to devolve from, it seems like there is a bit more evidence for the possible Atlantis origin for nuts-and-bolts UFO’s than a hypothetical far away planet and civilization that we have yet to discover.
Overall, I hope this has helped to persuade at least a few people to have an open mind about the true nature of the alien phenomenon as well as the extremely nuanced nature of this entire thing. Because while not every incident can be explained by Atlantean technology or a technology transfer with an alien civilization from another planet, neither can it all be waved away as Jungian collective unconsciousness or angels and demons. It most likely is going to be all of these and many more. The truth is very complex but we in the present do not have to think that we are the only ones who will have access to the truth, we in fact have thousands of years of human experiences and stories to build off of to get a much fuller and mystical understanding. Being able to synthesize the many areas and ideas of the paranormal is going to be vital for us getting closer to not just the truth of this universe, but also of why we choose to incarnate at this time and place. This universe is often very strange and filled with many different entities, forces, and realms, but at the end of the day we must remember that it all is connected and the need to compartmentalize all aspects of it, to separate out its individual parts from the whole, ultimately leaves us with a limited view of reality.
